The Chant Engineering 840101 Torque Motor Test Stand is designed and manufactured to test the servo valve torque motor assemblies on aircraft servo valves. The torque motor is a sub-assembly of the servo valve.
In typical testing of servo valves, the depot technicians have no way of knowing if the torque motor of servo valve assembly is fully functional until the last step of the servo valve testing is complete.
If the assembly was bad then the man-hours used to test the whole servo valve assembly were wasted. Chant Engineering developed this test stand to test the torque motor sub assembly prior to the servo valve testing, saving countless man-hour costs.
